November Database Update for HPC (Great Lakes and Lighthouse)
Due to an urgent issue which requires an immediate update, we will be performing updates to the Slurm database server, starting at 9 p.m. on Monday, November 20, 2023. This will have minimal impact on users using Great Lakes and Lighthouse.
- Jobs that are currently running will be allowed to finish and new jobs will be started
- Slurm commands which require information about the database will not work (e.g., sacctmgr )
- The Slurm controller, which launches jobs, will cache information about jobs which have started and completed. When the database server updates are complete, there will be a short period where the Slurm controller syncs with the database and may be slower to respond to queries or starting jobs.
